PROJECT AGSIKAP SESSION 1: ADVANCING INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH GENDER MAINSTREAMING
As part of its ongoing commitment to gender equality, the DILG National Capital Region continues to champion Gender and Development (GAD) in local governance. Through programs like Women LEAD launched this year, the region has been showcasing the leadership and innovation of women in crafting local solutions to climate and disaster risks. In 2025, DILG-NCR continues to build on this foundation by weaving GAD principles more deeply into the fabric of its programs, projects, and activities.
One major step in this direction is the official launch of Project AGSIKAP, a capacity-building platform aimed at helping local governments navigate the evolving landscape of governance and infrastructure development. More than just a training tool, Project AGSIKAP is a space for thoughtful exchange, where complex and timely topics such as gender equality and sustainable practices in infrastructure are explored. For its first session of 2025, the focus will be on gender mainstreaming in infrastructure development, highlighting the importance of inclusive design and how LGUs can champion it in their communities.
Project AGSIKAP Session 1: Advancing Infrastructure Development through Gender Mainstreaming will take place on May 27, 2025 (Tuesday) from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Monet 1 Ballroom, Novotel Manila Araneta City, and invited participants include members of the LGU’s GAD Focal Point System (GFPS), officials and/or functionaries from the Planning and Engineering Offices as well as select barangays with Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) projects.
